Do entitled people stress you out? Stress is not healthy. …
Stop Ass Kissers
You are not alone!! Let’s agree to not feel the stress caused by Ass Kissers.
Most engineers are observers.
Most engineers are factual and terse.
We need to talk about ass kissers and the unnecessary stress they cause observers.
I can remember sitting in cube after cube in my career and watching the ass kissers (every department I ever worked in had at least one or more). If the boss loved golf, then all of a sudden they are golfers. If the boss loves surfing, then all of a sudden the ass kissers are surfers. If the boss plays guitar, then all of a sudden everyone has guitar screensavers and here come the free concert tickets.
Even more irritating is the fact that when you observe an ass kisser you are WORKING, but for some reason, the Ass Kisser is always in the bosses office having a discussion! That my friends is the root cause of the stress; the inability to tell the most apparent truth that is, ” Why is that person getting paid to kiss ass, and I’m here doing all the work??”
THAT blatent true question based on your factual observation..and not being able to say it….THAT is what causes us stress.
So breathe in, and breathe out….. and KNOW…you are not alone. Most everyone can identify the ass kissers—sadly, however, for some reason, never the person getting their ass kissed.
Ass kissers are generally never discussed….NOW we can collectively decide not to bring home that stress.
Stop Ass Kissers…well we can’t…but laughter is always fair game as an anti stress technique!

It is comforting to know every workplace has at least one, no matter if it’s an entry level or executive career! I will never support or encourage anyone to kiss my ass or reap any benefits for doing so, ever.
I operate with integrity, a value I will not compromise. I do not want to be respected because you’re “supposed to”, I want to be respected because I conduct myself as a leader and earn the respect of those around, under or over me. Period, end of story.
Bravo Melissa, I’ll work with you anytime! 🙂
