Easy Miles and Mileage with the MileBug App
Sandy is a traveling salesperson. She covers most of Southern California for a consumer products distributor. She used to track her miles the traditional way, with a notebook and pen. When started using the Milebug app on her iPhone, she discovered that she was losing money every single day. Trips that she was only charging her company for 50 miles were actually more like 70, but she wasn’t tracking it door to door. The Milebug report function made it much easier to file her expense reports as well. Her reimbursement went up by 20% because her tracking was more accurate.
We discuss Milebug in Episode 17 of the Michele the Trainer Show with my very special guest star, Paula Gregorowicz.

Whether you work for yourself or use your personal vehicle for company work, you need to track your miles.
Traditionally, everyone has done this with a pen and a notebook, recording their starting mileage, ending mileage, and figuring out the difference.
Today, there is Milebug. Using your smartphone, you can easily track your miles, generate reports, and submit them on your taxes or to your employer.
Did you know that you that you get 57.5 cents per mile (as of 2015). That means that every half mile you don’t track, you are losing over a quarter. With gas at $2.00 a gallon, it won’t take long for you to lose gallons of gas.
Milebug is available for Android and iPhone. It is a free app with add-ons.
Milebug makes it easy to track all of your miles. If you only use your vehicle for work, you can simply put in your starting miles and the app will track every inch you drive. If you also use your car for personal use, you enter your starting miles and set the app to track your drive. When you are done, all you have to do is turn the app off.
You can also track your expenses directly into the app. Hotels, food, tolls, and much more can be entered into the app.
Then when you are ready to generate a report, the app will allow you print it out or email it. The report can come out in CSV or HTML, so it’s easy to share and customize.
Milebug takes the guesswork out of tracking miles, tracks every move you make to the foot, and makes reporting simple and thorough.
