Courage, Confidence & Crabs

I can’t do it for you!

Do you have the courage and confidence to embark on your journey of health and wellness?
Do you have the courage and confidence to ignore your unsupporters (crabs)?
Do you have the courage and confidence to reassuring your entourage (friends and family) that your growth in fitness/wellness doesn’t not mean that you are forcing them to change.
If you are already on a fitness/wellness routine we can all attest that LIFE will do it’s best to give you OTHER priorites.
Think if you will of that that guy Jared, The Subway Guy…the one who lost all the weight & now he’s on their commercials and he’s become a celebrity….
Well I would bet that his personal entourage are NOT SAD about his financial success as a result of his weight loss.
Crabs/NonSupporters:
I’ve spent a lot of time in my life staring at wet sand in the intertidal zone of many beaches. In some locations small fiddler crabs live in holes in the sand.
I’ve watched fiddler crabs run around in and out of their holes. I’ve watched as oftentimes a tiny but giant fiddler claw will reach out of the hole, grab a running crab and pull/drag it right back down into one of those holes.
People can be like crabs…they see you running fit and free, and they want to grab you and pull you backwards back into their hole. Maybe it’s back to the sofa– maybe it’s back to overeating–maybe it’s back to not working out at all–maybe it’s back to drinking soda and not water–maybe it’s back to fast food.  Have the confidence and the courage to recognize the crab people.
Supporting Your Entourage:
I invite you to use Jared’s success as an example to your friends and family as it’s a powerful success story!   Your fitness journey is a positive thing for everyone that you care for!
Change can freak some people out.  It’s very important that you understand that YOU taking care of YOU will enable you to better support your entourage.
It doesn’t mean that YOU taking care of YOU will poo poo everyone else around you.  NOT.
THE NEW YOU will have WAY MORE ENERGY and be in way better shape to take care of everyone & everything if you choose to, or do new things, or buy new clothes, or try new sports/hobbies.
So use that subway guy’s success as a positive example–please email me any other positive examples you can think of…
If you’re just starting out, I know it seems uncomfortable and exhausting…but you will get to a point where you feel WRONG all day if you have not MOVED OR SWEATED (is that a word?? LOL)
I know this, grasshoppers….
Watch out for the crabs folks & their claws!!
