Your Dog Can Drive You to Work

Your Dog Can Drive You to Work

Little cute maltese dog in the car with paw on the steering wheel barking

Fluffy honks (beep beep) and yells, “Come on, you ready yet!”

We can all easily see the benefits of pollution free transportation and getting away from using oil as fuel.  With the new connected cars coming, there are many internal and external benefits for consumers, the environment and the future.  Internally automotive Ethernet will replace traditional wiring harnesses.  In the vehicle, we will enjoy more Infotainment, where the interior of our cars can offer the same connectivity we enjoy in our living room and office.  Safety will be enhanced as well via monitoring, cameras, and other features that will improve our primary goal of getting from point A to point B.  With our need to reduce our global carbon footprint, and hey, I will need a car sometime soon too, it’s time to take a look all the new upcoming benefits and features that will bring more value to our lives. Here comes technology that will allow cars to drive and park themselves, so now Fido or Fluffy can give me a lift to work.

Traffic:

Remember that scene in the movie, The Italian Job where they control all the traffic lights?

Regarding traffic, your car will be able to talk to the traffic light and coupled with your navigation, we will finally have  a  safe way to avoid all the red lights.

Safety:

Collision avoidance!  Cars will be able to sense what’s around them and communicate with each other to avoid hazards.  Here is one example of increased safety visuals to assist the driver:

 Parking:

VALET PARKING ALL THE TIME!  WOOO HOOO!

Can’t find parking?  Your car can drop you off, and you can use your smartphone to call your car to pick you up!

Self Driving Cars:

Autonomous cars, or Self Driving Cars will be all the rage.  They are not necessarily hybrid or electric, but you can read my other blog post regarding the top two examples worthy of mention, coming soon!

Adorable little dog. I had one who loved to sit in the driver’s seat.
