Both systems are setup to clean themselves…our bodies have cardiac, and lymphatic systems and the ocean has waves and current and literal underwater rivers that cleanse the areas (until we build something that stops or alters the path)
Our bodies work until we don’t move/exercise or are dehydrated and that cleansing circulation cannot function..all functions are dependent on availability of CLEAN water
The ocean can’t cleanse itself with water full of pesticides or toxins from GMO agriculture, sewage, or agricultural run-off from farms that use pesticides as a spray..or bug or weed killer that exists in corporate seeds, dirt or irrigation “pellets”
and our bodies can’t take that in as fuel either—-your food is your fuel…
Land-based pollution that RUNS INTO the water counts for approximately 80% of marine pollution, globally. Marine habitats worldwide are contaminated with man-made debris, including plastics from untreated sewage. Let’s not forget oil spills…though the good news is that we have made them less popular, and there seems to be less oil spills as a result.
How is this pollution threatening our Ocean?
Dead zones (low oxygen hypoxic) areas exist in the oceans are areas where marine life cannot survive. There are close to 500 dead zones identified with an estimated total global surface area equal to that of the United Kingdom.
Excess nitrogen in your body can cause gout, and other ailments
Excess nitrogen in the ocean can cause algal blooms that are prolific and they can be toxic, killing fish, damaging ecosystems–they call them HABs Harmful Algal Blooms…and if you like to eat fish this also makes your seafood toxic.
