I'll be the first to admit, that I am guilty…
7 Dead Friends on LinkedIn
I have a few dead friends on LinkedIn.. Sure I could delete them..but they are like virtual Memorials ….like when you see an emotional mountain of flowers piled up near a streetlight off the freeway and you know there must have been a fatality there. We were all in tech, we were all linked on LinkedIn (many of us long before facebook, and way before normal people used LinkedIn)…and poof..now they’re gone..when I see their name it reminds me of the grand memories they left behind–and the great conversations we had over the years.
These were my FRIENDS…not statistics…these were my COWORKERS…and you’ve known some too I’m certain.
and all I got was this lousy email…
But we get so busy that by the time we get the email for the funeral, we often aren’t even able to attend due to hot tasks due and the stress that comes with it. Of course fueled by job loss fear.
They were parents and cyclists and world travelers..some lived in town and some were across the globe…some knew it was coming and took those trips of a lifetime….and brought back fantastic stories of action and adventure.
There is no stronger reminder when I look at the names of my fallen friends, that I am responsible for my own preventative health and wellness..best effort. To my friends…I salute you!!
